Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and the HailMe team, which runs HailMe. By creating an account, sending a request or otherwise using HailMe, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use HailMe.

You must be at least 16 and able to agree to these terms. Each account is for one real person. If you use HailMe for a company, you confirm you're allowed to act for it.

• You sign in with codes sent to your email, so keep that inbox secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
• Keep your name and details accurate.
• AI assistants you connect act for you. You choose what they're allowed to do, and you're responsible for what they do with that access. You can disconnect them at any time in Settings.

Your link (like hailme.at/your-name) is yours to use while you have an account, but it isn't property you own. We may change or take back a link that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, misleads people or breaks these terms, and some words are reserved. When you change your link, the old one stops working and someone else may take it.

• Anyone can send you a request through your page. You decide whether to accept, decline, shortlist or archive it.
• Accepting opens a private chat between the two of you. Either of you can read it; only the person who accepted can close or reopen it.
• Sending a request doesn't guarantee a reply. Senders can withdraw a request that's still waiting, 48 hours after sending it.
• Senders' email addresses aren't shown to the people they contact, and we use them only to run HailMe.

When using HailMe, don't:

• send spam, mass or automated requests, or the same pitch to lots of people;
• try to scam or defraud anyone, or ask for passwords, money or sensitive details under false pretences;
• harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone, or keep contacting someone who has blocked or declined you;
• pretend to be another person or organisation, or misrepresent why you're getting in touch;
• post sexual content involving minors, sexual content without consent, violent threats, hate speech, or anything illegal;
• share malware or harmful links;
• scrape HailMe, get around blocks, rate limits or bans, or try to access accounts or information that aren't yours;
• submit forged or someone else's documents for verification.

The blue tick means we checked that the person is real and that their name matches a photo ID. It isn't an endorsement, and it doesn't confirm anything else about them, such as their job or company. While you're verified, your name is locked; to change it you remove verification and can apply again. We may remove a tick if it's misused or no longer accurate.

You keep ownership of what you write and upload. You give us permission to store, process, display and deliver it only as needed to run HailMe (for example, showing your page and passing your messages to the person you're talking to). You're responsible for having the right to share what you post.

Anyone can report a request, chat or page. Our team reviews reports and may remove content, remove a tick, suspend an account (for a set time or until further notice), or stop an email address from sending requests. We'll usually tell you why by email. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that email or write to hello@hailme.at, and we'll take another look.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. What happens to your information then is explained in our Privacy Policy. We may close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

HailMe is free right now. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you before anything is charged, and you won't pay unless you choose to.

We're always improving HailMe, so features may change, be added or be removed. If a change significantly affects how you use HailMe, we'll let you know in advance where we reasonably can.

HailMe is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it running and secure, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and we aren't responsible for what other people say or do on HailMe.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of HailMe. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can't be limited by law, or our liability where it can't be limited by law.

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll tell you by email or in HailMe before they take effect. If you keep using HailMe after that, you accept the new terms.
